You photograph the receipt with your smartphone — either directly in the Bon.line app or by uploading an existing photo. The AI automatically recognises every line item with price, the date, the VAT, the shop and the total. You don't have to type anything.
Which receipts can Bon.line recognise?

How accurate is AI receipt scanning?
AI receipt recognition currently achieves accuracy of over 98% on printed till receipts and over 92% on handwritten receipts. For difficult receipts you can manually correct individual line items — the AI learns from each correction.
Are my scanned receipts stored in a GDPR-compliant way?
Yes. Bon.line hosts all data on European servers in Germany. Receipts are transmitted and stored encrypted. AI recognition runs on our own servers — no US cloud services, no OpenAI API, no data passed to third parties. You can delete or export all receipts at any time.
Does receipt scanning work without internet?
For taking the photo, yes — the Bon.line app stores the receipt photo locally. AI recognition runs as soon as internet is available again. So you can snap quickly while out and about, without worrying about reception.
Can I export scanned receipts for tax purposes?
Yes. Bon.line exports all captured receipts as CSV for spreadsheets, accounting software or your own tools. Plus PDF export for individual receipts so the original and the digital data stay together. Makes your tax return considerably easier.
